Repairs complete and water supply returning to customers in Duleek

Uisce Éireann crews have successfully completed repairs following a burst water main impacting customers in Duleek and surrounding areas.

Dedicated crews were dispatched this morning and worked throughout the day to restore normal supply to impacted customers in Duleek, Donore, Rathdrinagh, Roughgrange, Corballis, Carranstown, Dowenstown, Rossnaree, Garballagh, Knockisland, Knockcommon, Drumman, Lougher, Gillstown and surrounding areas.

Repairs have been completed and water supply is returning to customers. It make take until later this evening before normal water pressure is fully returned to all customers, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Uisce Éireann’s Michael Cunniffe acknowledged the impact on customers, adding: “on behalf of Uisce Éireann, I’d like to thank customers who were impacted by this unplanned outage for their patience and co-operation”.

Uisce Éireann is working to restore water to customers in the Duleek area following a major burst.

Every effort is being made to maintain water supply to as many customers as possible, but the burst is impacting the communities of Duleek, Donore, Rathdrinagh, Roughgrange, Corballis, Carranstown, Dowenstown, Rossnaree, Garballagh, Knockisland, Knockcommon, Drumman, Lougher, Gillstown and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann crews are on site this morning repairing the main and it’s expected works will be completed this evening. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Uisce Éireann’s Michael Cunniffe assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water as quickly as possible.

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while the repair works are ongoing.”
