Uisce Éireann is progressing a procurement process for the Regional Biosolids Storage Facility. It is likely that construction will commence on the facility at Newtown near Kilshane Cross, Dublin 11 in 2021 and take approximately 2 years to complete.

Once the contract is awarded, information on the contractor and details of a Community Liaison Officer, dedicated to the contract, will be provided. The Community Liaison Officer will be available to answer questions relating to the works on the ground. There will be a works notification system in place where residents in close proximity to the works will receive written notice of works a minimum of two weeks in advance of works that may impact them.

It is planned that the new Regional Biosolids Storage Facility will serve greater Dublin and its population for the next 25 years and will safeguard public health, protect our environment and facilitate development in this growing region. The new regional facility will lead to greater efficiencies and more effective management of the wastewater network over the longer term.
