Uisce Éireann successfully restores water supply to customers in Letterfrack and Tully

Uisce Éireann has thanked customers in Letterfrack and Tully for their patience while they worked to restore normal water supply to customers following a weather-related power outage. Customers in Letterfrack, Tully and the surrounding were affected by the unplanned outage.

However, crews have completed work, the plant is now back in operation, and a normal water supply is returning to all customers.

Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience caused by interruptions to the water supply and we very much appreciated our customers’ co-operation while our crews worked to restore water supply.

The network is replenishing but it may take a number of hours before a normal supply is returned to all, especially those at the end of the network or on higher ground.

Uisce Éireann is committed to keeping customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7 and we encourage customers to engage with us through our website, X channels @IWCare and @IrishWater, on Facebook and LinkedIn and through our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.

Previous Updates

Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply to customers supplied by Tully Water Treatment Plant and Letterfrack Water Treatment Plant who have been impacted by a weather-related power outage.

The power disruption over the last 24 hours has resulted in lower-than-normal water pressure and intermittent water outages in Letterfrack and Tully and the surrounding areas.

Crews have been mobilised to make the necessary repairs. Uisce Éireann is also liaising closely with the ESB to prioritise the restoration of power to plant. Uisce Éireann anticipates that the water supply will be fully restored later today however, it can take a number of hours for the reservoirs and water network to refill.

Tony Kelly, from Uisce Éireann, stated, "The effects of the inclement weather of the last 24 hours has caused a power outage, impacting production at Tully Water Treatment Plant and Letterfrack Water Treatment Plant. Expert crews are working tirelessly to restore operations at the plant while ensuring reservoir levels are replenished. We regret any inconvenience caused by this issue and sincerely thank the communities impacted for their patience."

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.

The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries. For updates please visit the Water Supply Updates section of water.ie
