Works ongoing to restore water supply following a burst watermain in Liscannor, Co. Clare

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers in Liscannor, Co. Clare and surrounding areas following a burst watermain. The areas affected include Liscannor Town, Derreen, Ballysteen, Moymore, Ballycotton, Carrowduff, and parts of Kilshanny.

Expert water service crews have been dispatched and are carrying out the required repair works, with every effort being made to complete this work as quickly as possible. A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works. The repair works are expected to be completed by 6pm today.

As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.

Following repair works, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Uisce Éireann’s Darragh Conneely said: “We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate the community’s patience as we work to restore the water supply for affected customers.”

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Uisce Éireann continues to provide detailed, real-time, and local information on our water service and supply issues page. (Reference no. CLA00081430)
