Crews restore water supply in Clare following Storm Darragh
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water supply returned to normal yesterday evening for impacted customers in the Cratloe and Parteen regions in Co. Clare. This was following a power outage at the water treatment plant as a result of Storm Darragh.
As the network refills and supplies returned, customers at various points of the network may have experience intermittent disruption or low water pressure. Customers may also experience short-term discolouration to their supply. For more information, customers can visit our Discolouration page.
An alternative water supply in the form of bulk containers will remain in place this morning, 09 December, and can be accessed at:
- Woodcross bar, Cratloe.
Uisce Éireann’s Darragh Conneely said “We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by interruptions to the water supply and very much appreciate the community’s co-operation while our crews worked to carry out the repairs and restore supply, following Storm Darragh”
“We are appealing to customers to check for leaks in the home and carry out necessary leak repairs to prevent avoidable loss of water. We are also asking farmers to check their service pipes, drinking troughs and outbuildings asking the public for their support to help reduce overall demand by conserving water.”
Customers are urged to report loss of service or visible leaks to assist Uisce Éireann to identify bursts. The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries.
