Repairs completed and network recharging in Mallow
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann crews have successfully completed repairs to a burst water main in Mallow this afternoon.
Repairs were carried out following a major burst on the raw water main supplying Mallow Water Treatment Plant.
As the network refills over the course of this evening and tonight, customers on the Cork side of the Old Mallow Bridge may experience supply disruption or low water pressure while the network recharges.
Operations Manager with Uisce Éireann, Niall O’Riordan, explained: “While the necessary repairs have been completed, recharging of the network will continue overnight and for some customers normal supply may not return until tomorrow morning, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network. I would like to thank our customers for their continued patience as supply returns overnight.”

Previous Updates
Uisce Éireann is working to restore water to customers in parts of Mallow following a major burst on the raw water main supplying the Mallow Water Treatment Plant.
Water services crews are on the ground this afternoon and every effort is being made to maintain water supply to as many customers as possible, but homes and businesses on the Cork side of the Old Mallow Bridge have been affected.
Operations Manager with Uisce Éireann, Niall O’Riordan, said: “Expert crews are onsite working to carry out the necessary repairs and restore customers’ water supply as soon as possible. We regret any inconvenience and thank the local community for their patience.”
Repairs are expected to be completed this evening. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
