Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann crews are continuing to work to restore water supply to customers in parts of Ballinamore and Drumshanbo.

While normal supply has returned to most customers across South Leitrim, some customers in Aughawillan, Coraleehan, and parts of Drumshanbo may be experiencing low pressure or outages today.

Uisce Éireann is continuing to work to restore normal operations at water treatment plants in County Leitrim which were impacted by production capacity issues following Storm Darragh. Local reservoirs are depleted and are currently refilling.

Uisce Éireann’s Kevin Love assured customers that Uisce Éireann is working to return the water supply to normal levels as quickly as possible.
“In the meantime, customers are urged to conserve water where possible in order to protect supply while the outages are resolved.”

Alternative water supplies remain in place at the following locations:

  • Drumshambo Mart
  • Fenagh National School
  • Mohill (opposite the Fire Station);
  • St. Brigid's Church, Drumcong;
  • The Square, Ballinamore (Opposite Garda Station)

Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure. The supplies will remain in place until supply has returned to all customers and will be rotated as water is restored and moved to areas taking longer for water to return. This will continue to be updated on the Supply & Services update page on our website. Reference No. LEI00086275.

Uisce Éireann also have 30,000 litre tankers filling reservoirs on the South Leitrim Scheme to return normal supply to customers as quickly as possible.
