Water supply returning to Woodford area after power outages

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Water supply is returning to normal for Uisce Éireann customers in the Woodford area of Co Galway this lunchtime, after power outages at the water treatment plant caused by Storm Darragh affected supply on Sunday.

Some customers in Woodford and the surrounding areas were affected by low pressure and supply disruptions as a result of the power outages.

Mains electricity has yet to be restored to the treatment plant but plant operators have this morning installed a generator to provide back-up power and allow a return to normal operations.

It may take a number of hours for normal supply to fully restore to all areas as the network refills, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
