Water supply returning to impacted customers supplied by Fethard Regional Public Water Supply Scheme

Impacted customers thanked for their patience and co-operation during the repair works
Uisce Éireann crews have successfully completed repairs to burst on a water main impacting customers supplied by Fethard Regional Public Water Supply Scheme in the following areas including: Silverfort, Coolbawn, Rathmolley, Mocklershill, Moyglass, Balloughby and surrounding areas.
Following reports of a supply disruption due to a burst and electrical outage, dedicated crews were immediately deployed and worked hard to restore normal water supply to impacted customers as quickly as possible.
Repairs have successfully been completed and water supply is returning to the majority of customers. Due to low reservoir levels and the size of the network, it may take until tomorrow before normal water supply is fully returned to all customers, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
To further support customers, Uisce Éireann has arranged alternative water supplies at Ballylusky Cross and Silverfort Cross. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure as per HSE advice.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Colin Cunningham, Water Operations Lead at Uisce Eireann, acknowledged the impact to customers, adding: "On behalf of Uisce Éireann, I'd like to thank customers who were impacted by his unplanned outage for their patience, co-operation, and assistance while we worked to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and regret any inconvenience caused."
