Uisce Éireann is working to restore the water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers in Dromiskin following a burst water main.

Expert water services crews have been dispatched to carry out repair works, and every effort is being made to complete this work as quickly as possible. It is expected that supply will be restored to customers by 6pm today.

Up to 1,000 customers in Dromiskin village, parts of Castlebellingham and surrounding areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure and/or water outages.

Uisce Éireann’s James O’Hagan has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water as quickly as possible.
“Our crews have located the burst at Dromiskin village. We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our works are ongoing.”

As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes. Following repair works, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to fully be restored to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
