Uisce Éireann crews have repaired a burst water main close to the Westside Shopping Centre in Galway City and restored the water supply to customers affected.
The burst resulted in a disruption to supply for businesses in the shopping centre and approximately 20 homes to the rear of the centre.
Uisce Éireann’s Leo O’Shea thanked customers for their patience while crews worked throughout the day to repair the burst.

Crews are working to restore water supply to an area in the vicinity of the Westside Shopping Centre in Galway City after an outage caused by a burst water main.
The outage is affecting business units in the shopping centre and approximately 20 homes to the rear of the shopping centre.
Uisce Éireann’s Leo O’Shea assured affected homes and businesses that specialist Uisce Éireann crews have been dispatched to the site and are working to repair the burst and restore supply to affected customers as soon as possible.
“Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience caused by unplanned outages and thanks affected customers for their patience while repairs are being carried out,” said Leo.
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers as the system recharges.
