Previous Updates

Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a significant water main burst which has impacted the water supply to Moylough village in Co Galway. Moylough, Cooloo and the surrounding area south of Gordons Cross may be experiencing disruption to their water supply this morning.

Works to repair the burst had to be called off late on Thursday night for safety reasons. Repairs resumed early this morning (Friday) and are expected to be completed by approximately 4pm this afternoon.

Water from the nearby Mountbellew Public Water Supply has been redirected to the national school and creche in Moylough, allowing them to remain open today.

Justin Doran of Uisce Éireann acknowledged the inconvenience caused by unplanned disruption to the supply and said that crews are working as quickly as possible to restore the supply.

Our specialist team on the ground is working diligently to fix the burst,” said Justin. “Uisce Éireann would like to thank our customers for their patience during this period of supply outage and we regret the inconvenience caused.

Uisce Éireann recommends that customers allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for supply to fully return, and it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
