Uisce Éireann appeals to customers in Ballinasloe to conserve water

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann is experiencing high levels of demand in the Ballinasloe area and has called on customers to conserve water and protect supply.

The surge in demand for water supply has affected reservoir levels with a number of customers experiencing outages and low pressure in areas including Clontuskert, Kiltomer and Lawrencetown.

As a result, homes and businesses are being asked to be mindful of their water usage to allow supply to catch up with demand and enable reservoirs to fully replenish.

Speaking about conserving water over the coming days, Uisce Éireann’s Justin Doran said: “We are appealing to customers in the Ballinasloe area to conserve water to give the reservoirs time to replenish. Any reduction that customers can make in their usage can collectively result in significant supply improvements for all customers.”

Justin added: "It’s important that we all consider our water usage and look at simple yet impactful ways to conserve water. It can sometimes be difficult to know where to start, but even small changes can make a significant difference.”

For more simple ways to conserve water, check out the Uisce Éireann conservation calculator which can help people work out how much water they are currently using and how they can conserve even more.
