The significant burst led to an unplanned outage in Kiskeam, Boherbue, Ballydesmond, Knocknagree and Dernagree in the Duhallow region.
Repair works continued throughout the day and the network is now re-filling. Most premises in the area have had water restored with the remainder to have their water restored by this evening.

“Uisce Éireann acknowledges the disruption that can be caused by an unplanned outage such as this one and we wish to thank customers in Duhallow area for their patience while these repair works were under way. It was a complex burst which required time to rectify,” he said.
Tankers were put in place at Boherbue National School, Boherbue Secondary School, Ballydesmond GAA pitch and Kiskeam GAA pitch this morning and they will remain in place until 10am on Thursday, 20 March.
Following the completion of the works, it can take 2-3 hours for the normal water supply to return as water refills the network, particularly for those properties on high ground or at the end of the network.
