Repairs to Drumconrath water main burst underway this evening

Burst is impacting the communities of Mentrim, Mandistown, Piercetown, Bigstown and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann is working to restore water to customers in the Drumconrath area following a major burst.

Every effort is being made to maintain water supply to as many customers as possible, but the burst is impacting the communities of Mentrim, Mandistown, Piercetown, Bigstown and surrounding areas.

Repairs are expected to be completed tonight. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Uisce Éireann’s Michael Cunniffe assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water as quickly as possible.

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while the repair works are ongoing.”
