Repairs completed and water supply returning to impacted customers in Celbridge

Uisce Éireann crews have successfully completed repairs following a series of bursts to a section of the water network supplying customers in Newcastle, Hazelhatch, Dublin Road, Hazelhatch Road, The Little Grove, Primrose Hill, The Big Grove, Simmonstown Manor, Hazelwood Park, Railway Cottages, Callenders Mill, Temple Manor, Chelmsford, Celbridge and surrounding areas in Co. Kildare.
Following reports of a supply disruption, dedicated crews were immediately deployed and worked hard to restore normal water supply to impacted customers as quickly as possible. Repairs have been completed and normal water pressure and supply is gradually returning to customers.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Stephen Burke, Regional Operations Manager at Uisce Eireann, acknowledged the impact on the community, adding: "A section of network was subject to a number of bursts resulting in the repair works taking longer. On behalf of Uisce Éireann, I'd like to thank impacted stakeholders for their patience, co-operation, and assistance while we worked to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and regret the inconvenience".
Uisce Éireann continues to appeal to customers to conserve water to help the network refill and restore normal supply to all customers. Turning off the tap while brushing your teeth and shaving can save up to 6 litres of water per minute. Taking a shower instead of a bath or using a watering can rather than a hose when gardening can also make a big difference in water use.
