Normal water supply returning to Galway City customers after leak repair
Uisce Éireann crews have completed overnight works in Galway City and a normal water supply is returning to customers this morning.
Crews carried out the essential repair works to a significant leak on the N59, opposite the entrance to the IDA Galway Business Park, last night which resulted in a planned outage for customers. Water supply was restored at approximately 2am.
Uisce Éireann’s Leo O’Shea thanked customers in Chestnut Lane, Ard na Locha, Aughnacurra, Dangan Heights, Dangan Court and the IDA Business Park for their patience while the essential works were underway.
“We understand the inconvenience of an interruption to a water supply no matter what time of day it occurs, and we thank the affected customers for their support. Our specialist leakage team found and repaired the leak successfully and water is returning to all customers impacted.”
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
