Overnight restrictions required in Moyvane, Knockanure, Tarbert/Tarmons and Listowel town to help local reservoir recover.

Water restrictions in place from 11pm, Monday, 15 July until 6am, Tuesday, 16 July

Uisce Éireann and Kerry County Council wish to advise customers in Moyvane, Knockanure, Tarbert/Tarmons and Listowel town that overnight water restrictions are necessary in order to conserve supply. The overnight restrictions are required to enable the recovery of levels in the Listowel reservoir and to ensure water supply to homes and businesses during daytime hours.

The restrictions will be in place from 11pm on Monday, 15 July until 6am, Tuesday, 16 July. The majority of customers should have adequate storage in their attic tanks to provide for essential uses such as flushing toilets for the duration of this restriction.

Uisce Éireann are asking customers in the area to conserve water, where possible. Simple actions such as turning off the tap while brushing your teeth and shaving, taking showers instead of baths and postponing using dishwashers and washing machines will all help conserve water.

John Fitzgerald, Uisce Éireann said, “These restrictions are going on as a result of dropping water levels at the Listowel reservoir. We understand the inconvenience that the restrictions may cause and we would like to apologise to customers and thank the local community  for their patience while we allow reservoir levels to recover."
