Nighttime restrictions in Castlecomer area necessary to conserve water

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann wishes to advise customers in the Castlecomer area of nighttime restrictions in order to conserve water and maintain a daytime supply.

Overnight restrictions are in place from 9pm to 9am until further notice and homes and businesses are being asked to be mindful of their water usage to allow supply to catch up with demand and enable water levels to replenish.

Communities in the following areas may experience interruptions to supply, discolouration or reduced pressure: Clogh, Ardra, Massford, Moneenroe, Coolbawn and Castlecomer. Customers should allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for supply to fully return.

Speaking about the restrictions, Uisce Éireann’s Shane Aylward said “Due to raw water shortage, these restrictions are necessary in order to maintain and protect a daytime supply. We understand the inconvenience that restrictions cause and want to thank the community for their patience.”

Customers can find useful water saving tips on our Conservation page . This also includes an easy-to-use conservation calculator so you can work out how much water you are currently saving and how to conserve even more.
