New wastewater upgrades in Turnapin to foster future growth in Santry

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann is undertaking significant upgrades to the wastewater network in Turnapin to support growth and development in the Santry area and enable the delivery of essential housing.

The project, delivered as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Growth and Development Programme, will also improve the operational performance of the existing wastewater infrastructure, ensuring a more resilient service for the community.

Commenting on the project, Uisce Éireann’s Padraig Hanly, said: “These upgrades are essential to enable future economic and social development of the Santry area. When complete, this project will increase the capacity of the wastewater network, bringing tangible benefits to the community and the environment in facilitating future demand and reducing the risk of sewer flooding in the area.”

The works are due to commence onsite later this month and will involve the installation of over 380m of new sewerage pipes to improve the capacity and operational performance of the network. The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by GMC Utilities Group Ltd. and are expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

In order to safely facilitate works, a stop/go traffic management system will be in place at Turnapin Grove and Turnapin Lane.

Standard working hours are from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Uisce Éireann understands that this type of work can be inconvenient and works crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works cause.

Uisce Éireann is responsible for delivering public drinking water and wastewater services for the people of Ireland. We are committed to enabling communities to thrive by continuously upgrading and developing critical infrastructure to support sustainable growth and development, providing safe drinking water, and enhancing the environment.
