Limerick sees supply restored to customers

We have made significant progress in recent days restoring water supply to customers in Limerick. Following the impact of Storm Éowyn, over 30 Water Treatment Plants were impacted by power outages across the county.

While the majority of supplies have been restored, a small number of customers across the county may still be experiencing disruptions to their water supply, and our crews continue to work to address these issues.

Uisce Éireann’s Operations Manager, Eoin O’Connell has said, “This has been an extremely busy period for our engineers, supervisors, caretakers, and repair crews who have been working hard to restore water for our customers and I want to acknowledge those efforts. Their efforts have led to nearly all water treatment plants resuming normal operations, with only one water treatment plant reliant on back-up generator power. Uisce Éireann would like to apologise to customers who were without water for a number of days and would like to thank the public for their continued patience during this challenging time.”

Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) has established a Local Coordination Group, which includes Uisce Éireann, ESB, government departments and other agencies to support residents affected by Storm Éowyn.
