Large bursts repaired on Achill Island

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann has repaired two large bursts on Achill Island with reservoirs now replenishing.

Customers in Tonragee, Polranny and Dooega and surrounding areas impacted by the burst are expected to have a normal water supply restored by tomorrow morning, Thursday, 7 December.

Thanking the community for their patience, Uisce Éireann's Colette Scahill explained that, to support those impacted, Uisce Éireann has made an alternative supply available in Tonragee.

"Supply in Achill is currently being restored to all customer in the community but in the meantime alternative supply will be available in Tonragree in front of The Way inn (F28 Y036)."

"We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate their patience as we work to repair the burst and return normal water supply."

"Customers availing of the alternative supply are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure as per Health Service Executive (HSE) advice."
