The people of Trim and surrounding areas can look forward to an improved and more secure water supply following the commissioning of a new Dissolved Air Flotation and Filtration (DAFF) treatment system at Trim Water Treatment Plant.

The new treatment system, involving a capital investment of approximately €1.5 million, will improve the reliability and resilience of the water treatment plant and benefit over 12,000 customers in the community.

The DAFF system is now fully operational after commissioning works and a period of testing over the past month.

This project safeguards the water supply and will improve reliability and resilience of the water network in the Trim area.

Ivan Corcoran, Programme Manager, Uisce Éireann said, “We’re delighted to complete this significant upgrade to the water treatment plant at Trim. The commissioning of the DAFF project is part of a phase of upgrades by Uisce Éireann to deliver a more robust and resilient water supply in the Trim area. I want to take this opportunity to thank the community for their ongoing support and patience throughout the delivery of this vital project."

A full upgrade of the Trim Water Treatment Plant is programmed to commence in the coming months, subject to the completion of procurement of the contractor to deliver the works. Uisce Éireann will continue to provide updates on timelines as we progress through these steps in early 2025.
