Uisce Éireann has completed significant upgrades to the wastewater network in Turnapin to support growth and development in the Santry area and enable the delivery of essential housing.
The project, delivered as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Growth and Development Programme, will also improve the operational performance of the existing wastewater infrastructure, ensuring a more resilient service for the community.
Commenting on the project, Uisce Éireann’s Padraig Hanly, said: “These upgrades are essential to enable future economic and social development of the Santry area. Now completed, this project will increase the capacity of the wastewater network, bringing tangible benefits to the community and the environment in facilitating future demand and reducing the risk of sewer flooding in the area.”
Works involved the installation of 400m of new sewerage pipes at Turnapin Lane and Turnapin Grove, and upgrades to the existing Turnapin Wastewater Pump Station. GMC Utilities Group Ltd. carried out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
