Uisce Éireann, is working to restore water supply to customers in Ballyhooly following operational issues at the Water Treatment Plant through the night.

Expert water services crews were dispatched early this morning and are still onsite to investigate the issue and restore operations as quickly as possible.

The plant is now back up and running. However, the issue has resulted in the reservoir reaching critical levels. Although the reservoir is refilling normal supply is expected to return to all customers by 1pm today.

As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes. Following return of supply, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to fully be restored to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Uisce Éireann is appealing to customers to be mindful of their water usage, to allow supply to catch up with demand and enable the reservoir to fully replenish.

Uisce Éireann’s Brian Flinn assured customers that Uisce Éireann is working to resolve the issue and return the water supply to normal as quickly as possible. “We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate your patience as we work to return the water supply to customers as quickly as possible.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
