Our crew is carrying out essential works to the water network in Cappamore/ Cross of the Bog, Co. Limerick on Thursday, 30 January. To facilitate these works a water outage is necessary.
The essential works are being carried out as part of the National Leakage Reduction Programme and will strengthen and reinforce the water supply network in Cappamore by improving the operational performance of the water network and reducing leakage. These works involve the replacement of 4km of old and damaged water mains with new modern pipes in Cappamore.
The outage will take place tomorrow, Thursday, 30 January, from 11.00am to 2.00pm. During this time, homes and businesses in Towerhill, Dromsally Killuragh, Clogher, Gortmanna, Castlegarde, Gortavalla, Kilmoylan, Doon, Cooga, Dromineenboy, Pallasgreen and surrounding areas in County Limerick may experience interruptions to water supply or reduced water pressure. A traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works.
Programme Manager, Brian McCarthy said: “Every effort will be made to reduce the impact of these works on homes and businesses and restore the water supply as quickly as possible. We understand the impact that outages can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during the works.”
Following the works, it may take three to four hours for normal supply to fully restore to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
As the water supply returns, there may be some increased instances of discoloured water in the short-term. For helpful tips on what to do following an outage, visit https://www.water.ie/help/supply/after-an-outage.
