An appeal to the Kildare community to report leaks during thawing conditions
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
As the impact of the recent freezing weather and subsequent thaw continues to be felt in the coming days, there may be additional disruptions to supplies across Kildare. When frozen pipes start to thaw, it can lead to an increase in bursts and leaks.
Uisce Éireann's Water Operations Lead for Kildare, Eoghan Forristal, reminds people to continue being mindful of their water usage and reporting any leaks on the public network. He said, "As a thaw replaces the freezing conditions we have experienced, we expect to see an increase in leaks and bursts on the network. Water services crews remain on standby to maintain and restore water supplies for customers in Kildare."
Eoghan added, "We would ask people to remain vigilant over the coming days and report any leaks in the public network so that our crews can carry out repairs. The public can report leaks or bursts to our Customer Care Team on 1800 278 278."
