Modernising and upgrading the treatment plant in Portlaw Co. Waterford to ensure environmental compliance.

Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Waterford City and County Council, has invested €2 million to complete essential upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant at Portlaw, Co. Waterford.

Veolia Ireland Limited has delivered this project on behalf of Uisce Éireann, with this project completed in Q4 of 2019.

This project has upgraded and modernised several elements of the wastewater treatment process at the plant, to ensure compliance with the Wastewater Treatment Regulations. This included the construction of a storm water storage facilities and clarifier, and upgrades to the inlet works and aeration tank at the plant.
