Water Supply Project
Uisce Éireann commences works to upgrade the Gowran Regional Water Supply.
Uisce Éireann is commencing with works on the Gowran Regional Water Supply Scheme to improve the security of water supply across Gowran, Goresbridge and Paulstown. This project represents a €12m investment which will benefit 1,200 people.
The project includes the construction of a new water treatment plant, reservoir, rising mains and development of two abstraction boreholes to supplement existing supply arrangements. This project will also improve the quality and security of water supply for the area and provide additional capacity for connections to the scheme.
David Walsh Civil Engineering Ltd is delivering the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.

What is involved in this project?
- Construction of a brand-new water treatment plant (WTP).
- Development of new groundwater abstraction boreholes.
- Construction of new raw water rising mains between boreholes and the new WTP.
- Construction of a new treated water storage tank within the new WTP site.
- Construction of a water main between the new WTP and the existing Butlersgrove Water Tower and works at Butlersgrove reservoir.
- Retention of existing sources and treatment facilities.
