Glanmire Bridge Wastewater Pump Station Upgrade

Uisce Éireann Growth and Development Programme

Uisce Éireann has upgraded the Wastewater infrastructure in Glanmire  to support future growth and development in the area.

Uisce Éireann has completed the upgrade to the wastewater pumping station (WWPS) near Glanmire Bridge, which now caters for the future growth and development of the wider Glanmire area. These works were carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s Growth and Development Programme and the works were completed in July 2025.

The section of works took place at the existing pump station site which was accessed from the East Cliff Road adjacent to the Glashaboy Estuary.

This project was delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It now improves the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area, improves performance and reduces demands on the current network.

Were customers affected by the works?

Works were confined to the existing pump station site which was accessed from the East Cliff Road adjacent to the Glashaboy Estuary. Advanced site access signage was in place on East Cliff Road.

We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and works crews made every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works caused. Standard working hours were 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
