Athsholáthar Príomhlíonra Uisce an Fhál Carraigh / Falcarragh Water Mains Replacement

An Clár Laghdaithe Sceite / National Leakage Reduction Programme

Tá Uisce Éireann, i gcomhpháirtíocht le Comhairle Contae Dhún na nGall, ag athsholáthar an phríomhlíonra uisce atá ag dul in aois agus lena mbaineann fadhbanna ag An Fál Carrach, Co. Dhún na nGall chun soláthar uisce níos iontaofa a sholáthar agus chun ardleibhéil sceite a laghdú.

Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Donegal County Council, has replaced ageing, problematic water mains in Falcarragh, Co. Donegal to provide a more reliable water supply and reduce high levels of leakage.

Sonraí faoin tionscadal

Áirítear leis na hoibreacha os cionn 305 mhéadar de shean-phríomhlíonra uisce lena mbaineann fadhbanna a athsholáthar agus píobáin nua chomhaimseartha a chur ina náit. Tosóidh an clár chun an príomhlíonra uisce ag An Fál Carrach a athsholáthar i Lúnasa2022. Tá na hoibreacha sin á gcur chun feidhme mar chuid de Chlár Laghdaithe Sceite Náisiúnta Uisce Éireann.

Beidh an chuid de na hoibreacha ar siúl feadh an L-11131 Bóthar an tSeanbhaile, An Fál Carrach, Co. Dhún na nGall.

Áireofar leis na hoibreacha freisin naisc seirbhíse uisce nua a leagan síos ón bpríomhlíonra poiblí sa bhóthar chuig teorainneacha réadmhaoin na gcustaiméirí agus é a nascadh le soláthar uisce na gcustaiméirí. Nuair a bhíonn na naisc seirbhíse reatha ar thaobh an phobail déanta de luaidhe, athsholáthrófar iad sin mar chuid den obair feabhsúcháin sin.

Is é Farrans Construction Ltd a dhéanfaidh na hoibreacha thar ceann Uisce Éireann agus táthar ag súil go gcuirfear i gcrích iad faoi mhí Dheireadh Fómhair 2022.

Details of the project

The works involve the replacement of over 305 metres of aged problematic water mains with new modern pipes. The programme to replace the water mains in Falcarragh, Co. Donegal will commence in August 2022. These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann's National Leakage Reduction Programme.

The section of works will take place along the L-11131 Oldtown Road, in Falcarragh, Co. Donegal.

The works will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers' property boundaries and connecting it to the customers' water supply. Where the existing service connections on the public side are lead these will be replaced as part of this improvement work.

The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Farrans Construction and are expected to be completed by October 2022.

Cad iad tairbhí na n-oibreacha?

Áirítear na nithe a leanas le tairbhí na n-oibreacha laghdaithe sceite:

• Soláthar Uisce Iontaofa -Trí athsholáthar an phríomhlíonra uisce agus na naisc seirbhíse laghdófar na teagmhais de phíopaí pléasctha agus de bhristeacha sa soláthar uisce agus cinnteofar soláthar níos iontaofa uisce do chustaiméirí agus do ghnólachtaí áitiúla sa cheantar.

Ligin Laghdaithe - Trí athsholáthar an phríomhlíonra uisce agus na naisc seirbhíse cuirfear deireadh leis na ligin atá ann agus laghdófar méid an uisce óil a chailltear sa talamh.

Oibriú Feabhsaithe agus Cothabháil Fheabhsaithe - Soláthrófar coigilteas costais leis na hoibreacha sin trí oibriú feabhsaithe an líonra uisce óna dteastóidh cothabháil níos lú sa todhchaí.

What are the benefits of the works?

The benefits of the leakage reduction works include:

• A Reliable Water Supply - Replacement of water mains and service connections will reduce the instances of bursts and water outages and will ensure a reliable supply of water to customers and local businesses in the area.

• Reduced Leaks - Replacement of water mains and service connections will eliminate existing leaks and reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground.

• Improved Operation and Maintenance - These works will deliver cost savings by providing improved water network operation that will require less maintenance in the future.

An rachaidh na hoibreacha i bhfeidhm ar chustaiméirí?

Déanfar limistéir na hoibre a theorannú do chodanna gairide d'fhonn an iarmhairt ar chustaiméirí a íoslaghdú. Chun na hoibreacha sin a chur i gcrích go héifeachtach agus go sábháilte, cheadaigh Comhairle Contae Dhún na nGall dúnadh bóthair agus beidh sé i bhfeidhm le linn na n-oibreacha. Beidh malairtí slí i bhfeidhm sa tréimhse sin agus éascófar trácht áitiúil agus éigeandála i gcónaí.

D'fhéadfadh roinnt bristeacha sa soláthar uisce a bheith ann le haghaidh tréimhsí gairide agus cinnteoidh an fhoireann tionscadail go dtabharfar fógra 48 n-uaire ar a laghad do chustaiméirí roimh aon bhristeacha sa soláthar uisce atá beartaithe.

Will customers be affected by the works?

Areas of work will be limited to short sections to minimise impact on customers. To deliver these works efficiently and safely a road closure has been granted by Donegal County Council and will be in place for the duration of the works. Diversions will be in place during this time and local and emergency traffic will always be maintained.

The works may involve some short-term water interruptions and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours' notice prior to any planned water interruptions.

We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and works crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works cause.
