Ahascragh Sewerage Scheme

Wastewater Project

Uisce Éireann has completed works to the wastewater treatment plant to end the discharge of untreated wastewater into the Bunowen River.

Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Galway County Council, has completed works to the new state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant and associated infrastructure for Ahascragh, Co. Galway. Previously, over 300 wheelie bins of untreated wastewater was discharged to the Bunowen (Ahascragh) River per day. This investment will now benefit homes and businesses in the area and will ensure all wastewater is treated appropriately.
