Crews are working to restore water to homes and businesses
Crews are working to restore water to homes and businesses in Clonmel after a water main supplying the town burst this evening.
Customers affected by the burst water main include those from Davis Road, St. Patrick's Road, Gurtnafleur, Ring Road, Meadowlands, Cashel Road, Moangarriff, Clonmel and surrounding areas in Co. Tipperary.
Repairs are expected to be completed by 3pm tomorrow. In the meantime, an alternative water supply will be available at the Knockaun Court off St. Patrick's Road and Meadowlands in Moangarriff from 8pm this evening. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and, as a precaution, boil the water before drinking.
Colin Cunningham, Operations Lead with Uisce Éireann apologised to the customers affected.
"We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate their patience as we work with Tipperary County Council to repair the burst as quickly as possible and return the water supply. We recommend that customers allow 2-3 hours after the estimated restoration time for the supply to fully return."
