Works underway in Limerick City to safeguard supply for customers supplied by Newcastle Reservoir
Uisce Éireann will carry out essential maintenance works to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses supplied by Newcastle Reservoir in Limerick City over the coming weeks. These important works will commence this week and will continue until 8 March.
Uisce Éireann wishes to advise customers in Limerick City and environs, that maintenance works at Newcastle Reservoir may lead to a discoloration in their water supply, for a period of time. Customers in the following areas are likely to experience discolouration in the supply while the works are being carried out: Limerick City urban areas, Raheen, Castletroy, Dooradoyle, Mungret, Clarina, Patrickswell, Caherdavin, Athlunkard Road, Parteen, Cloonlara, Ardnacrusha and Cratloe.
If discoloration occurs, it may be intermittent and take up to 48 hours to clear across the network. Uisce Éireann recommends running the kitchen tap for a few minutes to see if the water returns to a clear colour. For more information, please customers can visit our Discoloured Water page.
