Work continues to restore water in Slane area

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water supply to customers in Slane, Stackallan, Yellow Furze, Dowth and surrounding areas in Co. Meath due to a power outage following Storm Darragh.

Power has now been restored to the Slane water treatment plant and every effort is being made to maintain water supply to as many customers as possible, however customers may experience supply interruptions until local reservoirs have recovered. Crews have been mobilised and works are expected to be complete later today.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Uisce Éireann’s Michael Cunniffe assured customers that Uisce Éireann is working to return the water supply to normal levels as quickly as possible.
“In the meantime, customers are urged to conserve water where possible in order to protect supply while the outages are resolved.”

For simple ways to conserve water, check out the Uisce Éireann Conservation Calculator which can help people work out how much water they are currently using and how they can conserve even more.
