Water supply in Newbridge and Athy continues to meet regulatory standards
Uisce Éireann wishes to advise that it is aware of a small number of contacts to our customer care centre regarding homes, mainly in the areas of Newbridge and Athy in Kildare, where slight taste and odour issues are being reported.
Uisce Éireann is treating this matter with the utmost priority. While plant, network. and water supply monitoring and sampling are ongoing, sampling will now be intensified in the affected areas to gain a greater understanding and further protect public health, ensuring that the water continues to be compliant with drinking water regulations and is safe to drink.
Kevin Love, Regional Asset Operations Lead at Uisce Éireann said, "We are currently investigating the source of the intermittent taste and odour issues mainly in the Newbridge and Athy area and continue to test the water to determine the root cause."
Kevin added, "Protecting public health is a top priority for Uisce Éireann and we would like to advise customers that the water supply to customers in Kildare is compliant with regulatory standards and is safe to drink."
