Uisce Éireann is working to restore supply to Cahir Town following a burst on a trunk watermain
Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply as quickly as possible to Cahir Town following a burst to a trunk watermain serving the town.
Crews are on site undertaking the repair with works expected to be complete by 3pm today. Following the repair it will take approximately three hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas. This is particularly true for those on higher ground or at the end of the network, as the water refills the network.
In order to reduce the impact; water has been diverted to return supply to some customers. However all customers in affected area will experience reduced pressure or no water util approximately 6pm this evening.
Colin Cunningham of Uisce Éireann apologised for the disruption to supply. He said, “We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we regret the inconvenience caused. We would like to thank impacted customers for their patience while we work on repairs and restore the water supply as quickly as possible.”
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
