Uisce Éireann advise of planned outage in Wicklow

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann is carrying out essential maintenance works to a section of water main supplied from Vartry Reservoir on Tuesday, 03 December.

Customers in Ballymacahara, Killiskey, Nun's Cross, Callowhill, Newcastle, Coyne's Cross, Newtown, Kilmurry, Delgany and surrounding areas in County Wicklow may experience interruptions to water supply or reduced water pressure between the hours of 6am and 6pm on Tuesday, 03 December.

Uisce Éireann’s Eoghan Forristal said: “Every effort will be made to reduce the impact of these works on homes and businesses and restore the water supply as quickly as possible. We understand the impact that outages can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during the works.”

Following the works, it may take three to four hours for normal supply to fully restore to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

As the water supply returns, there may be some increased instances of discoloured water in the short-term. For helpful tips on what to do following an outage, visit our Outage page.
