Essential maintenance works taking place on Wednesday, 17 May
Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Roscommon County Council to carry out essential maintenance works to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses supplied by Kiltrustan Reservoir.
Uisce Éireann and Roscommon County Council wish to advise customers in Elphin Town, Strokestown, Doon, Cregga, Cloonfree, Ardakillan, Clashaganny, Kiltrustan, Toberpatrick, Knockhall, Kilglass, Ballyfeeney and surrounding areas supplied by the North East Regional Public Water Supply, that reservoir maintenance works may cause disruption to supply for homes and businesses from 4pm on 17 May until 4pm on 18 May.
Speaking about the maintenance works, Operations Lead with Uisce Éireann, Ger Greally said: "These essential cleaning works of the main Kiltrustan Reservoir are necessary to continue to provide a safe and reliable supply to customers. The majority of customers on this scheme will see their water supply return during Thursday morning while others, particularly customers living in Strokestown and its environs may continue to experience an intermittent supply until the network is fully recharged and reservoir levels replenished".
Ger added: "Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience when planned works like this occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we complete these essential works".
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann will receive direct communication on this planned maintenance work.
