Essential overnight restrictions required for Abbeyfeale following impact of Storm Kathleen
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.
Power outages caused by the storm earlier today resulted in outages in the area
Overnight restrictions are necessary in Abbeyfeale tonight to maintain a daytime supply, as a result of the impact of Storm Kathleen on water treatment infrastructure.
Power outages caused by the storm earlier today resulted in outages in the area and nighttime restrictions are now necessary to allow reservoir levels recover.
Customers in Abbeyfeale Town and surrounding areas may experience reduced pressure from midnight tonight, until 8am tomorrow morning (Sunday). It can take two to three hours following restoration of pressure for normal supply to be fully restored.
Uisce Éireann's Water Operations Lead, Duane O'Brien, outlined: "We want to thank impacted customers for their patience as we work to restore normal supplies. We are appealing to customers to help conserve water by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and to postpone using dishwashers and washing machines where possible. Further information on water conservation is available on our website at www.water/conserve."
Uisce Éireann continues to monitor reservoir levels and will provide further updates if additional restrictions are needed.
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries. For updates on local water supply issues, please visit our Water Supply Updates section.
