Essential maintenance works for Kilcarn Public Water Supply

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann will carry out essential maintenance works to Gerrardstown Reservoir tomorrow, Wednesday, 12 June, 2024.

Customers served by the Kilcarn Public Water Supply in Oldtown, Gerrardstown, Gillstown, Corballis, Clonardran, Philpotstown, Lismullen, Monktown, Cusackstown, Slanduff and surrounding areas may experience a water outage, low pressure and/or water discolouration as a result of the work which will take place between 8am tomorrow morning and 6pm tomorrow evening.

Uisce Éireann’s Michael Cunniffe explained that these scheduled maintenance works are necessary to continue to provide a safe and reliable water supply to customers.

We understand the impact that outages can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during these essential works.”

Following works, it can take two to three hours for normal water supply to return to all customers as the network replenishes.

If discoloration occurs, it may be intermittent and take up to 48 hours to clear across the network. Uisce Éireann recommends running the kitchen tap for a few minutes to see if the water returns to a clear colour. For more information, please customers can visit the discoloured water section

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Business customers can sign up to Uisce Éireann’s text alert system to receive updates on supply interruptions over four hours in duration at www.water.ie/business-updates
