Essential maintenance works underway at Collon Water Treatment Plant

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Low pressure and/or water outages until 12.30pm tomorrow, Friday 23 June

Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Louth County Council to carry out essential maintenance works at Collon Water Treatment Plant.

While these works are underway, customers in the following areas may experience low pressure and/or water outages until 12.30pm tomorrow, Friday 23 June: Philipstown, Tinure, Whiteriver, Lismanus, Priestown and surrounding areas in Co. Louth.

Following the completion of the works, it can take two to three hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas as water refills the network.

Speaking about the maintenance works, Operations Lead with Uisce Éireann, Michael Cunniffe said: "These maintenance works are necessary to continue to provide a safe supply to Collon and its environs. Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience when maintenance works are carried out and thanks customers for their patience while we complete these essential works."

"We would ask customers to continue their water conservation efforts by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and to postpone using dishwashers and washing machines where possible. Further information on water conservation is available on our Conservation page."

Uisce Éireann and Louth County Council regret the inconvenience and would like to reassure customers that crews are working to complete the works and restore normal water supply as quickly as possible.

The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates on local water supply issues, please visit the Water Supply Updates section of www.water.ie.
