Crews successfully restore water supply for Meath customers after Storm Debi power outages

Uisce Éireann, is pleased to announce that power has been restored and water production has resumed at the affected plants. As a result, normal supply has returned to customers in Meath who were impacted by a recent power outage caused by Storm Debi. During the power disruption, customers in Trim, Kells, Nobber, Stamullen, Navan, Slane, and the surrounding areas experienced lower-than-normal water pressure and intermittent water outages.
Michael Cunniffe, from Uisce Éireann, acknowledged the impact on the community, stating, "On behalf of Uisce Éireann, I'd like to thank our impacted customers for their patience, cooperation, and assistance while we worked alongside our partners in the ESB to complete the necessary repairs as quickly as possible."

Uisce Éireann, is working to restore water supply to customers in Meath who have been affected by a recent power outage caused by Storm Debi. The overnight power disruption has resulted in lower-than-normal water pressure and intermittent water outages in Trim, Kells, Nobber, Stamullen, Navan, and the surrounding areas.
Crews have been mobilised to make the necessary repairs. We are also liaising closely with the ESB to prioritise the restoration of power to plants affected by electricity outages. Uisce Éireann anticipates that the water supply will be fully restored later today; however, it can take a number of hours for the reservoirs and water network to refill. Generally, it takes approximately two to three hours for the water supply to return to normal for all affected customers.
Uisce Éireann is appealing to all customers in the impacted areas to conserve water during this time, as the reservoirs replenish. This will help prevent additional strain on the local supply and ensure that normal water pressure and supply can be fully restored to all residents.

Expert crews are working tirelessly to restore operations at the plants while ensuring reservoir levels are replenished. Uisce Éireann appeals to customers to conserve water where possible to alleviate pressure on the local supply. We regret any inconvenience caused by this issue and sincerely thank the local community for their patience."
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.
