Crews working to restore water supply in Killavullen

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann is working to restore the water supply as quickly as possible to approximately 100 homes in the Killavullen to Rockforst area of Cork following a burst to a water main in Killavullen Village.

Customers in Ballymacmoy, Rahan and surrounding areas will continue to experience low pressure and/or interruptions to their water supply until repairs are completed tomorrow, Sunday 8 October. Crews are working hard to maintain the water supply to as many customers as possible and have been able to reconfigure the network and maintain supply for customers in Killavullen Village.

A further update will be issued tomorrow on the progress of repairs. Following repairs, it typically takes two to three hours for water to refill the network and normal supply to fully restore to all areas, especially those on higher ground.

Uisce Éireann's Cormac Bergin regrets the inconvenience for customers, adding: "We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we regret the inconvenience caused. We would like to thank impacted customers in the Killavullen area for their patience while we work on repairs and restore the water supply as quickly as possible."

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.

The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X (formerly Twitter) @IWCare with any queries. For updates please visit the Water Supply Updates section on www.water.ie.
