Crews working to restore water supply in Limerick City
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.
Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply as quickly as possible following a burst to a watermain in Limerick City. As a result of the burst, customers in Limerick City and surrounding areas may experience low pressure and/or interruptions to their water supply.
Dedicated water service crews are on the ground and repair works are expected to be completed by 3pm this afternoon.
It typically takes two to three hours following the estimated restoration time for normal water supply to fully restore to all areas, especially those on higher ground.
Uisce Éireann's Duane O'Brien has assured customers that crews are working as quickly as possible to repair the burst.
"We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we would like to thank impacted customers in the Ballysimon Road and surrounding areas for their patience while we work on repairs and restore the water supply as quickly as possible."
Following this type of work, occasionally issues such as cloudy water (air bubbles), discolouration or internal airlocks may arise. For advice on how to resolve these issues, please visit our Supply Issues Following an Outage page.
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is also open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. Uisce Éireann regrets any inconvenience caused by this disruption.
