Crews working to restore water supply in Moylough, Co. Galway
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.
Uisce Éireann is working with Galway County Council to restore water supply to customers following a burst to a water main in Moylough.
As a result of the burst, customers in Moylough town and surrounding areas including those supplied by Cooloo and Elm Hill Group Water Scheme may experience low pressure and/or interruptions to their water supply.
Dedicated water service crews are on the ground and repair works are expected to be completed by 2pm, tomorrow (Thursday).
We recommend that affected customers allows 2-3 hours after the estimated restoration time for their supply to return to normal.
Uisce Éireann's Eoin Hughes assured customers that crews are working as quickly as possible to fix the issue.
"We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we would like to thank impacted customers for their patience while we work to restore the water supply."
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates please visit our Water Supply Updates section.
