Repairs completed to Aughagower water main
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.
Uisce Éireann and Mayo County Council have successfully completed repairs following a water main burst in Aughagower.
It took a considerable effort to identify the burst, but once it was located crews quickly repaired it.
Water will be restored to most of the affected customers in Knappagh Beg, Lankill areas later this evening, but it could be tomorrow before the network refills and a normal water supply returns to customers in the Aughagower area.
Water tankers will remain in Aughagower village until the water supply is fully restored in the area.
Colette Scahill, Operations Lead with Uisce Éireann, thanked customers for their patience while work was underway.
"We understand the inconvenience an outage can have on customers, and we appreciate their co-operation."

Alternative supply available in village
Uisce Éireann is working with Mayo County Council to restore water supply following a burst to a major water main in the Aughagower area.
Dedicated water services crews are working to identify the leak as quickly as possible to reduce the impact on homes and businesses and restore normal water supply.
The areas affected include Knappagh Beg, Lankill and Aughagower with both Lankill and Aughagower reservoirs running low on water.
Colette Scahill, Uisce Éireann, commented: "We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and would like to thank impacted customers for their patience while we work to restore the water supply."
"I can assure those affected that our leak detection and repair crews are on the ground working to identify and fix the issue."
To support customers, Uisce Éireann has arranged an alternative water supply.
A water tanker is located in the village of Aughagower and a second tanker will be in place this afternoon.
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure as per HSE advice.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates please visit the Water Supply Updates section of the Uisce Éireann website.
