Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.
Uisce Éireann and Tipperary County Council are working to restore normal water supply to The Commons scheme following a large leak. As a result water supply to the following areas is impacted:
- Blackcommon
- The Commons
- Kyle Ballygalvin
- Boulintea
- Croakes Cross
- Upper Ballingarry and surrounding areas.
Crews are on the ground working to isolate and repair the leak ,and restore normal water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers.
In the meantime alternative water supplies will be made available at the school in The Commons and in Ballingarry. These supplies will remain in place until supply is restored to all customers. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Colin Cunningham of Uisce Éireann said, "We understand the inconvenience this issue is causing and are working to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible. It is expected that the works will be completed by approximately 6pm on Sunday December 18th, after which it will take a number of hours for the network to refill and normal supply to return to all customers.
"We are also asking the public to do what they can to conserve water during this time by turning off taps and checking for leaks in outside taps or unoccupied premises. "If anyone notices a leak in the public network they should report it to Uisce Éireann via www.water.ie or by calling 1800 278 278.".
Localised updates about water supply issues are available on www.water.ie or via Twitter @IWCare. The Uisce Éireann Customer Care Team is also available to help 24/7 on 1800 278 278.
