Staleen Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

Uisce Éireann is progressing plans to increase the production capacity at the Staleen Water Treatment Plant. This will enable Uisce Éireann to meet planned increases in demand across the Navan/Mid Meath and East Meath/ South Louth region.

What is involved as part of this project?

The following works are proposed as part of the project:

  • Upgrade of Roughrange Raw Water Pumping Station
  • Upgrade of the coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation process
  • Upgrade of three existing rapid gravity filters at the plant
  • Upgrade of the liquid and solid residual process

What are the benefits of these works?

The works carried out as part of this project will:

  • Improve the security of the drinking water supply and provide greater network resilience across Navan, Mid Meath, East Meath, and South Louth Water Supply Zones (WSZs).
  • Enable the long term social and economic development of the wider Co. Meath and Co. Louth area.

What is happening next?

The timeline for the commencement of works is subject to planning and statutory approvals.  We will endeavour to keep you updated as the project progresses.
