Bandon to Clonakilty Trunk Water Main Project

Uisce Éireann Growth and Development Programme

Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Cork County Council, has completed the construction of a new trunk water main between Bandon and Clonakilty to alleviate current supply challenges in the Clonakilty area. This project will support the future growth and development of Clonakilty and the surrounding areas.

The works involved the construction of 13.5 kilometres of trunk water main connecting Bandon water treatment plant on Carhue Hill to the Clonakilty water treatment plant at Jones' Bridge via Baxter's Bridge and the N71.

The works were carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Ward and Burke Limited and were completed in Q4 2023.
